If you’re looking for Myrtle or Mildred, you’ll probably find them somewhere between the history shelves and the fairy tales. One spends her days rescuing forgotten stories from dusty drawers, while the other firmly believes that every book deserves to be read with a cup of tea and an open mind.

Together they keep Story Corner tidy enough for visitors to browse, although neither of them has ever been particularly successful at putting books back where they found them.
