Meet Ms Tira Misu

Her friends know her as Tira, but around Hearth Cottage everyone simply calls her Ms Misu.

She believes a cake should make you smile before you’ve even taken the first bite.

Miss Misu insists that recipes are only gentle suggestions, that butter improves almost everything, and that a splash of something boozy is good for both cakes and conversation.

The shop window is always immaculate. The kitchen behind it is another matter entirely.

Here you’ll find imaginary cakes, occasional recipes, painted illustrations and little stories, all served with a generous helping of humour and the firm belief that life is better with tea, good friends and a slice of something wonderful.
