| 1 Threshold | Threshold, Pause, Possibility | “I feel new possibility waiting for me.” “I stand at the edge of something new, and that is enough for now.” | “Something is opening. You do not have to step forward yet.” “It is alright to linger at the edge.” |
A threshold is simply the place where one thing ends and another has not quite begun.
It is standing in the doorway with your hand still on the frame.
It is looking out before stepping through.
Sometimes life shifts quietly. Nothing dramatic happens. Yet you know something is changing. The air feels different. The light falls differently. You cannot quite name it, but you feel it.
That is a threshold.
There is no need to rush it.
We are often told to be decisive, to move forward, to make something happen. But there is wisdom in standing still for a while. A doorway is not only for crossing — it is also for pausing.
When you linger at the edge, you begin to notice more. The shape of the land ahead. The steadiness of your own feet. Whether this path truly calls to you, or whether you are simply restless.
The figure on this card is not hurrying. They are looking. The light is rising, but the step has not yet been taken.
And that is all right.
Not every opening needs to be entered immediately. Some are there simply to show you that life is wider than you thought.
You may stand here as long as you need.
It is enough to feel that something is opening.
